Momo creates characters and worlds you fall in love with.

Momo Akashi specializes in writing character-driven stories and songs. Drawing on her extensive experience (over eight years) in show production and character branding at Tokyo Disney, she creates characters that audiences immediately identify with. Her characters are both unique as well as vulnerable: You like them because you see yourself in them.

Additionally, Momo enlivens her characters and works with the culture of Japan, her home. Reverence for nature, the omnipresence of the supernatural, and the search for beauty run deep as themes in her writing. Momo Akashi continues to bring her works to life through dynamic collaborations and innovative productions. Audiences around the world continue to love the worlds she creates.

Momo is an extremely talented emerging lyricist and bookwriter with a unique voice and a theatrical sense of whimsy and wonder. I can't wait to follow what I'm certain will be her fabulous career in the theatre.
